Education & Training
I graduated with a Diploma in Hypnotherapy from HMI College of Hypnotherapy in Southern California, including an internship of practical experience under the supervision of staff instructors holding teaching credentials from the State Department of Education. Additionally, I earned a Certificate in Wellness Counseling from Cornell College of Human Ecology and a Specialization in Integrative Health and Medicine from the University of Minnesota.

As the State of Kansas has not adopted educational and training standards for the practice of hypnotism, this statement of credentials is for informational purposes only. Hypnotism is a self-regulating profession and its practitioners are not licensed by state governments. I am not a physician nor a licensed health care provider and may not provide a medical diagnosis nor recommend discontinuance of medically prescribed treatments. If you desire a diagnosis or any other type of treatment from a different practitioner, you may seek such services at any time. You have the right to refuse hypnotism services at any time. You have a right to be free of physical, verbal, or sexual abuse. You have a right to know the expected duration of sessions and may assert any right without retaliation.
Fees & Cancellations
My fee for a one-hour session is $150. If you need to cancel your appointment, please provide at least 24-hour notice to avoid being charged the full session fee. In the event of a no-show (missing an appointment without notice), you will be charged the full session fee of $150. I understand that unexpected circumstances may arise, and I am willing to make exceptions to this policy on a case-by-case basis. Please note that this policy is in place to ensure that I can effectively manage my schedule and provide the best possible care to all of my clients. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to discuss them with me.
Insurance Not Accepted
I suggest you think of my services as something that you will pay for personally. That will both protect your privacy and help you value the work you are doing more. In general, insurance companies do not cover hypnotic services, and I caution you not to expect them to do so.
Your Privacy
You have the right to expect that anything you tell me will be held in confidence. I will not release any information to anyone without written authorization from you. It is my policy to refuse disclosure of all privileged information.
My Approach
The services I render are held out to the public as non-therapeutic hypnotism, defined as the use of hypnosis to inculcate positive thinking and the capacity for self-hypnosis. The self-hypnotic state is a state of relaxed concentration that anyone can enter naturally. I provide clients with instructions on how to enter this natural state more easily and effectively. I do not represent my services as a form of health care or psychotherapy, and despite research to the contrary, by law, I make no health benefit claims for my services.
Client Acknowledgment
By reading this document, you acknowledge that (a) you have read and understood this document. (b) you understand this is not a contract and that you may end your sessions at any time. (c) you understand that Harley Sears has initially recommended a series of three sessions at a frequency of once a week to address your presenting issue. At the end of your program, you may continue sessions at your desired frequency as long as you feel you are receiving benefits.
