ABOUT YOUR PRACTITIONER

My Training

I hold a Diploma in Hypnotherapy from HMI College of Hypnotherapy in Southern California, where I completed an internship under state-credentialed instructors. My additional training includes a Wellness Counseling Certificate from Cornell University and an Integrative Health and Medicine Specialization from the University of Minnesota. I do annual continuing education to keep my training current with developments in the field.

Business Information

My professional services are provided through Hypnotherapy with Harley Sears, LLC, a Kansas-registered business entity in good standing with the Secretary of State. Professional liability insurance as a Hypnotherapist is maintained through American Professional Agency of New York.

Background Verification

I voluntarily undergo comprehensive annual background screening through Checkr, a third-party verification service. My 2026 screening returned a "clear" status across all categories, including identity verification, criminal background checks, sex offender registry searches, and national security database checks. This voluntary commitment demonstrates my dedication to maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct and client safety.

PRICING & POLICIES

Fees & Payments

My fee is $150 for a one-hour session, or $300 for a three-session package. These are the only fees you will pay.

Secure Payments

Cards are never stored in my system, and you cannot be charged without manually purchasing sessions yourself. Each session or package must be purchased by you, ensuring complete control over all transactions.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours notice whenever possible. There are no rescheduling fees or cancellation charges, and I understand that unexpected circumstances may arise. That said, a pattern of repeated late cancellations or missed sessions may require a conversation about scheduling going forward.

Health Insurance Not Accepted

In general, health insurance companies do not cover hypnotism and I caution you not to expect yours to do so. I will not engage in correspondence with insurance companies.

PRIVACY & CONFIDENTIALITY

Confidentiality

I will not release any information to anyone without a written authorization from you, except as provided for by law. You have the right to access my written record about you.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

I use Zoom AI to generate summaries of our sessions, which helps me maintain accurate records and provide consistent support. This processing is HIPAA-compliant, and the resulting notes remain confidential and are used solely to support my work with you. AI assists with documentation only; all decisions and interventions come from my professional judgment, and every note is reviewed, validated, and approved by me.

SCOPE & LIMITATIONS

Notice

Regulations for the practice of hypnotism vary by state, and in most states, including Kansas, hypnotism is a self-regulating profession not subject to state licensure. This statement of credentials is for informational purposes only. I am not a physician or a licensed healthcare provider and may not provide a medical diagnosis nor recommend discontinuance of medically prescribed treatments. If you desire a diagnosis or any other type of treatment, you may seek such services at any time.

Scope of Practice

I provide meditative and motivational coaching for a wide range of issues. This can include supporting and enhancing the effectiveness of medical or psychological care you're receiving elsewhere, though my work is not intended as a substitute for such care. I do not diagnose, treat, or prescribe. My services help ordinary people with everyday challenges, supporting human flourishing by teaching the capacity for self-hypnosis and positive thinking. My services are supportive and educational, teaching persons to use their natural skills and abilities.

Contraindications

Hypnotherapy may not be appropriate for individuals with certain conditions, including severe mental health disorders, active psychosis, dissociative disorders, or other conditions that might be adversely affected by hypnotic techniques. If you have any of these conditions or are unsure whether hypnotherapy is appropriate for you, please consult with your healthcare provider before proceeding with sessions. If I determine that a client's needs exceed my scope of practice, I will provide appropriate referrals to licensed professionals.

RESULTS & EXPECTATIONS

Client Responsibility

Results from hypnotherapy vary from person to person. The success of our work together depends greatly on your commitment and follow-through. You are responsible for your own well-being during and after our sessions, including making health choices and decisions. While many clients report positive outcomes, I cannot guarantee specific results.

VIRTUAL SESSIONS

Technical Requirements

For virtual sessions, you'll need a reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, a private and quiet space free from interruptions, and the Zoom app (or internet browser access).

Troubleshooting Procedures

In the event of technical difficulties, we will attempt to reconnect. If reconnection is not possible, we will reschedule or continue by telephone, depending on your preference.

Termination Policy

I reserve the right to terminate our professional relationship if I believe that continuing would not be in your best interest, if your needs exceed my scope of practice, or if other circumstances arise that necessitate termination. Similarly, you have the right to terminate our professional relationship at any time.

You are fully responsible for your physical, mental, and emotional well-being during and after your sessions. You may discontinue services at any time. All information shared during your sessions will be kept confidential. You consent to the use of confidential AI-assisted session summaries as described above. If participating in virtual sessions, you agree to ensure you have the necessary technology and privacy in place.
